Changing Tides

End of Life Care

Honouring the ebb and flow of life’s final transition

With Changing Tides I believe that even in life’s final chapter, we are still living. My mission is to help you and your family find your way. Whether we are managing clinical needs in your home, navigating family conversations, or walking a favourite trail to process grief through nature, I am here to walk beside you and to handle the “how” of the dying process so that you can focus on the “who”- the person you love.

Every journey is unique, let’s start with a complementary 15 minute phone consultation to see which tide of support fits your family’s needs best.

Your Questions,
Answered

  • Most medical systems are stretched thin, focusing primarily on physical symptoms and medication. While I bring 20 years of Palliative RN expertise, I provide the "high-touch" time that the system often cannot. I am your advocate, coach, and guide. I don't check vitals; I help you navigate the medical jargon, walk with you on local trails to process grief, and help you document your legacy.

  • As a private Nursing Consultant and Coach, my services are not currently covered by MSP. However, many Extended Health Care plans cover "Registered Nurse" services or "Social Work/Counselling" equivalents. I provide professional receipts with my RN registration number, which you can submit to your provider for potential reimbursement or use for medical tax credits.

  • I provide consultative and bedside support, but I am not a 24/7 nursing agency. My role is to empower the family and the patient. During the "active dying" phase (The Shoreline Vigil), I offer intensive presence and guidance, but for acute medical emergencies or 24-hour shift nursing, I coordinate with your existing Hospice team or Home Health agency.

  • Yes. This is one of the most valued parts of my Clinical Navigation service. I act as a "medical translator," ensuring you understand what the specialist is saying, asking the questions you might not think of, and making sure your wishes are clearly communicated to your medical team.

  • These are nature-based coaching sessions. If a patient is mobile, we visit a local trail or park. If they are home-bound, I work with the caregiver. We use the rhythm of walking and the outdoors to process the heavy emotions of a terminal diagnosis. Movement helps "unstick" grief in a way that sitting in a clinical office often cannot.

  • That is wonderful. My services are collaborative, not competitive. I work alongside your Hospice RN and Physician to provide the extra layer of emotional and practical support that helps a family feel truly "held" through the transition.

  • Changing Tides provides education and emotional coaching regarding all legal end-of-life options in British Columbia, including MAiD. Changing Tides acts solely as a consultant and doula; we do not perform formal MAiD assessments or administrations.

  • The best way to start is with a Complimentary 15-Minute Clarity Call. We’ll discuss your current situation and see if my "Changing Tides" approach is the right fit for your family.

If you’re ready for guidance or just need someone to talk things through, reach out to schedule a no-obligation consultation. I’m here to walk beside you every step of the way.
